Privacy Policy

App Name: MyExamBrowser  |  Last Updated: September 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the MyExamBrowser application ("App", "we", or "us") handles information when installed and used by students during academic examinations. Please read this policy carefully.

Privacy First: MyExamBrowser is designed to function entirely offline after the exam QR code is scanned. We do not collect, upload, or sell any personal student data. All exam session data is stored only on your device.

Information We Collect

MyExamBrowser does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) from students. No registration, login, or account creation is required.

The following data is processed locally on your device only:

Device Permissions

Permission Purpose Data Stored?
Camera Scan the encrypted exam QR code provided by the proctor to begin the exam session. No — camera frames are processed in real-time and immediately discarded. No images or videos are saved or transmitted.
Internet Access Load the designated exam webpage (e.g., Google Forms, school LMS) inside the secure exam browser. No — the app only opens the URL defined by the proctor. No data is collected from the exam platform by the app.

Kiosk / Screen Lock Behavior

To maintain exam integrity, MyExamBrowser activates a kiosk lock mode during the exam session. In this mode:

Session Recovery Data

To prevent students from losing exam progress due to device restarts or battery failures, the app may store an encrypted recovery token in the device's secure local storage. This token contains only session timing information and is automatically cleared when the exam session ends.

Third-Party Services

Data Retention

Local exam session data is automatically cleared when the exam concludes. Uninstalling the application or clearing app data permanently removes all associated data from your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the application after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
